Appian Technology Wins Five New Orders

23 August 2007

Appian Technology, the AIM listed provider of Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems and traffic management products, has won five new significant ANPR contracts.

Five more American police departments have selected the highly accurate Talon as their preferred number plate recognition software.

Talon is based on a neural network technology, which is superior to any template based Optical Character Recognition (OCR) ANPR system, offering significantly higher performance and accuracy, typically better than 97%.

In addition to the Talon software licences, a number of the highly dependable Cobra ANPR cameras were purchased.

The Cobra ANPR Image Capture system has been designed to read vehicle licence plates day and night, in the most demanding conditions. The Cobra system can be supplied with a range of different internal camera and IR illumination options offering unmatched flexibility - suitable for any ANPR application including mobile, fixed and long range ANPR.
