Contract Wins totalling £266,000 for Newly Launched ANPR Cameras

11 March 2008

Appian Technology plc has won contracts worth a total £266,000 with a number of key systems integrators and police forces to supply its newly launched specialist ANPR cameras.

Appian has developed a range of state of the art high performance ANPR camera products, which it launched during 2007, namely the fully integrated Stinger intelligent ANPR camera, the Cobra fixed site camera, and the Viper mobile camera for police vehicles.

In the past eight weeks Appian has sold £116,000 worth of Stinger cameras to specialist security integrators and police forces and in the past six weeks, it achieved sales worth £120,000 of the Cobra camera, lifting the total number of Cobra sales since its launch in early 2007 to in excess of 1,500 units, far surpassing anticipated levels.

Additionally, having passed a series of stringent regulatory tests in February 2008, Appian has sold £30,000 worth of Viper mobile cameras, the smallest commercially available camera in the UK, to specialist police vehicle systems integrators.

Appian Chairman Pat Ryan said, “Over the past year our research and development department has worked hard to create a range of best of breed world class ANPR hardware devices to complement our Talon software ANPR engine. Whilst this has been a bold step forward, our impressive sales to date justify the heavy investment in this area of the business and are testament to the quality of the product we now offer.”
